Washington, January 21 – In a heartwarming announcement that has captured national attention, U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance are preparing to welcome their fourth child this July. The couple shared the joyful news on social media, sparking congratulations from across the political spectrum.
Usha Vance took to X, formerly Twitter, to reveal the exciting development. ‘We are thrilled to share some wonderful news—our family is growing!’ she posted, accompanied by a repost of her husband’s statement. JD Vance confirmed that Usha is expecting a baby boy, with both mother and child reported to be in perfect health.
‘We are overjoyed to share that Usha is expecting our fourth child. Usha and the baby are doing great, and we can’t wait to welcome him at the end of July,’ Vance wrote. He extended special thanks to the military doctors and staff who have supported their family through this busy period, ensuring they can balance family life with national service.
The Vances, both 40, already share three children: sons Ewan and Vivek, and daughter Mirabel. This new addition will make their young family even more vibrant. Usha’s Indian roots add a unique layer to their story—born in San Diego to parents from Andhra Pradesh, her father a mechanical engineer and mother a molecular biologist.
Their paths crossed at Yale Law School in 2010 during a discussion group on social issues in white America. Usha built an illustrious legal career, clerking for Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh before working as a corporate litigator in San Francisco. As Second Lady, she continues to inspire with her poise and accomplishments.
This announcement comes amid a whirlwind of political activity, yet the Vances emphasize family as their cornerstone. Friends, colleagues, and leaders from both parties have flooded social media with well-wishes, highlighting the unifying power of such personal milestones.
