New Delhi is buzzing with anticipation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for a landmark two-day visit to Israel. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Israel’s Consul General to India, Yaniv Reuach, revealed groundbreaking plans to deepen defense ties, including sharing cutting-edge Iron Dome technology.

Reuach emphasized the unbreakable bond between the two nations, not just at the governmental level but between their leaders. ‘We are proud of the strong connection between our countries and leaders. PM Modi and PM Netanyahu share a common vision, forged by similar security challenges,’ he stated.

The visit, approved by Israel’s cabinet, will focus on political, economic, and defense cooperation. Reuach highlighted the potential for joint manufacturing of military hardware in India and technology transfers for advanced systems like Iron Dome.

‘This trip is crucial. It will propel agendas forward, from private sector partnerships to counter-terrorism efforts. Both nations battle terrorism, and this alliance sends a powerful message,’ Reuach added.

Israel views India as a global superpower and a key partner against radical threats. Reuach outlined efforts to build a new axis with India, Abraham Accords nations, and others to counter radical influences in the Middle East.

Defense remains central, with plans to upgrade bilateral agreements. ‘We’re expanding cooperation to include manufacturing in India and sharing Iron Dome tech with our partners,’ he affirmed.

Beyond defense, discussions will cover economic ties and India’s aspirations for a UN Security Council permanent seat. Shared values and challenges like radical Sunni and Shia axes underscore the partnership’s importance.

As Modi lands in Israel, this visit promises to elevate India-Israel relations to new heights, fostering innovation, security, and strategic alignment in a turbulent world.
