In a bold escalation of the ongoing conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a successful airstrike on Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport, claiming to have obliterated key Iranian defense and detection systems. These systems, according to Israeli military sources, posed a direct threat to their air force operations over the region.

The operation marked the tenth wave of Israeli Air Force attacks on Tehran, guided by precise intelligence. Fighter jets targeted the airport’s infrastructure, specifically dismantling radar and defensive setups operated by the Iranian regime. ‘Our entire air force is committed to weakening the Iranian terrorist regime’s infrastructure,’ an IDF statement declared.

This strike follows closely on the heels of another milestone: the IDF’s F-35I Adir stealth fighter jet shot down an Iranian Yak-130 jet, marking the first time a manned fighter aircraft has been downed by an F-35 in combat history. The IDF celebrated the feat on social media, highlighting the jet’s prowess against threats repurposed for drone and missile defense.

Tensions between Israel and Iran have skyrocketed in recent weeks, with mutual airstrikes and missile barrages targeting military bases and airspaces. Meanwhile, the UAE intercepted three Iranian ballistic missiles and 121 out of 129 drones launched by Tehran, with minimal damage reported from the eight that penetrated defenses.

As the Middle East braces for further volatility, Israel’s preemptive actions underscore its strategy to neutralize aerial threats from Iran, potentially reshaping the balance of power in the skies over the Persian Gulf.
