JERUSALEM – India’s Ambassador to Israel, JP Singh, described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit as nothing short of historic, with Israelis welcoming him with unprecedented warmth, turning the occasion into a grand celebration reminiscent of a national festival.
In an exclusive interview, Singh highlighted how the visit marked a pivotal moment in India-Israel relations. The two nations signed 16 agreements across key sectors, elevating their partnership from strategic to ‘special strategic’ levels. ‘The enthusiasm of the Israeli people was palpable,’ Singh noted. ‘PM Modi’s address to the Knesset received resounding applause, underscoring shared values and a deepening bond.’

Agriculture saw commitments to expand Centers of Excellence, aiming to boost productivity for small farmers. Trade discussions advanced with directives for a free trade agreement and a UPI pact to streamline financial transactions. Defense ties, already robust, will deepen further, alongside cultural exchanges.
Singh praised Modi’s ‘visionary’ Knesset speech, which went viral and symbolized the strengthening alliance. This visit not only fortified bilateral ties but set a roadmap for future collaboration, promising mutual prosperity.
