ISKCON: The bail plea of Bangladesh ISKCON President Chinmoy Krishna Das has been rejected. Chittagong Court did not grant bail to the Hindu saint after hearing the arguments of both the sides for about 30 minutes. ISKCON President is in jail in Bangladesh since 25th November. The hearing in the bail petition was completed today, now Chinmay Krishna will approach the High Court for bail.

Chittagong Court has rejected his bail plea. His lawyers are now preparing to go to the High Court. Chinmoy Krishna Das was presented in the court amid tight security. After his arrest, demonstrations started in Bangladesh as well as in different places of the world. Earlier, on December 3, 2024, the Chittagong Court had fixed today’s date for the bail hearing but Chinmay Krishna has not been able to get bail.

Chinmay Krishna’s lawyer said
During the hearing, Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer Apoorva Kumar said that we have come to Chittagong under the banner of NGB Okya Parishad. He said, “I am a member of the Supreme Court and Chittagong Bar Association. In such a situation, I do not need the seal of approval of any local lawyer to take the case forward.”

The minorities of Bangladesh have protested against the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das. Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCOP) termed the case registered against Chinmay Das on 29 December 2024 as false. He said that Chinmay Das was arrested for the purpose of harassment.
