Iran Warns Europe: Joining US-Israel Will Be Act of War

Tehran has issued a stark warning to European nations, declaring that any participation in US-Israel campaigns against the Islamic Republic would be considered an ‘act of war.’ This strong statement came from Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei during a Tuesday press conference.

Baghaei made it clear: if European countries join what they call ‘defensive actions’ against Iran’s missile capabilities, Iran will view it as a declaration of war. The remarks directly respond to a joint statement from Germany, Britain, and France, who suggested they might take defensive measures to neutralize Iran’s missile and drone threats at their source.

On Sunday, the trio stated they could ‘take defensive action proportionate to eliminating Iran’s capacity to fire missiles and drones from their source.’ However, they emphasized no direct involvement in war, though they might allow US forces to use their bases.

Tensions escalated as Iran reportedly launched a drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh, heightening regional instability. The European Union has urged all sides to exercise restraint, but Britain has already permitted US forces access to its bases.

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot affirmed readiness to defend allies if requested, citing defense agreements and the presence of around 400,000 French citizens in affected countries. He stressed France’s right to intervene if necessary and preparations for evacuations via commercial and military flights.

This escalation underscores the fragile balance in the Middle East, where proxy conflicts and direct threats risk broader confrontation. As diplomatic rhetoric intensifies, the world watches closely for the next move in this high-stakes standoff.
