The majority of these bunkers are located on private property, within basements of apartment buildings or single-family homes. The responsibility for building and maintaining these bunkers rests with cantonal and municipal authorities. Despite the unified goal, official policies vary across different cantons. Following the India-Pakistan conflict earlier this year, there has been a growing demand for more bunkers in India. Many experts have emphasized the need for the construction of bunkers, along with robust air defense systems.
