Details have emerged from a private meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighting significant disagreements over resolving the war in Ukraine. According to leaked information, Trump strongly advocated for Zelenskyy to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin’s terms, warning of dire repercussions if he refused. The situation reportedly devolved into a ‘shouting match,’ with Trump displaying considerable anger, allegedly throwing maps related to the conflict. Reports quote European officials describing Trump as being ‘sick’ of the ongoing situation and directly telling Zelenskyy that Putin would ‘destroy’ his country. This comes as Putin has repeatedly insisted on Ukraine relinquishing control of the Donbas territory as a prerequisite for ending the war. President Trump has been actively involved in seeking diplomatic solutions, having previously met with Putin and anticipating further peace talks. After his meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump addressed reporters, urging an end to the killing and suggesting a resolution at the current front lines.
