Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to visit the International Space Station, has returned to Earth following the Axiom-4 mission. The spacecraft, carrying Shukla and his international crewmates, made a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean near California. The mission lasted 18 days and saw Shukla and his team working aboard the ISS. Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Shukla’s accomplishment, hailing him as an inspiration to the nation. The return marks India’s renewed participation in space after 40 years, since Rakesh Sharma’s journey. After splashdown, the astronauts will undergo medical checks and begin a rehabilitation period to adjust to Earth’s gravity.
