INS Kadmatt, a ship from the Indian Navy, played a pivotal role in the mobile fleet review held during Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Day. This indigenously built anti-submarine warfare vessel symbolized the strong ties and maritime partnership between India and Papua New Guinea, taking the lead in the special ceremony on Thursday, September 4th.
The fleet included INS Kadmatt, along with FNS Auguste Bénébig, HMPNGS Gilbert Toropo, HMPNGS Ted Diro, HMPNGS Rochus Lokinap, VOEA Ngahau Koula, and HMAS Childers.
As a multinational and multi-platform event in Port Moresby harbor, Kadmatt, in the role of Serial Operations Officer (OCS), adeptly managed the various challenges associated with the event. Following the assignment of this responsibility on September 1st, all ships received briefings and precise instructions to ensure the secure operation and accurate maneuvers of the warships.
After meticulous preparations in the harbor, seven warships representing five countries moved in a synchronized fashion, maintaining a 600-yard distance from each other, reaching their salute points on schedule. The event concluded successfully after all ships safely continued their course.
This occasion underscores the Indian Navy’s capacity to operate within a multinational framework and reinforces its reputation as a highly competent and professional force. It also showcases the improving interoperability amongst like-minded navies within the Indo-Pacific region and the Indian Navy’s strengthening position as a preferred security partner.
