Over 1,250 business leaders and officials gathered in Moscow for the 16th Russia-India Business Dialogue, marking a pivotal moment in bilateral economic relations. The event, hosted by the Indian Business Alliance, Business Council for Cooperation with India, Moscow Government, and Roscongress Foundation, underscored a commitment to deepen trade collaborations on global stages, including the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from June 3-6.

Discussions in the main session zeroed in on resolving trade hurdles and balancing bilateral commerce. Key areas highlighted included streamlining logistics and financial stability, fostering industrial partnerships, reducing import dependencies, and advancing joint ventures in energy, technology, and innovation.

Sergei Cheremin, Minister of Moscow Government and Head of the Department of External Economic and International Relations, noted the surge in trade activities. ‘Over the past year, more than 50 joint business programs have been launched,’ he stated, emphasizing efforts to boost Indian companies’ presence in Russia, enhance cooperation in pharmaceuticals, electronics, and creative industries, alongside mutual investments and high-tech product supplies.

Sammy Kotwani, Chairman of the Indian Business Alliance, described the summit as a new phase in strategic partnership. ‘With over 1,250 participants and active involvement from Russian regions, this reflects long-term confidence,’ he said, highlighting practical projects tailored to regional needs.

Alexei Valkov, Deputy Director of Roscongress Foundation and Director of the St. Petersburg Forum, praised India’s consistent role in their programs. He affirmed that dialogues extend beyond Russia through international initiatives, setting the stage for sustained growth in Indo-Russian economic ties.
