New Delhi witnessed a pivotal diplomatic engagement on Thursday when India’s Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan held talks with Bolivia’s Vice President Edmundo Lara Montano. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit, focused on deepening collaboration in key sectors like solar energy, critical minerals, digital technologies, higher education, and healthcare.
Both leaders expressed delight over the evolving bilateral relations between the two nations. Discussions highlighted opportunities to expand partnerships that could drive mutual growth and innovation. ‘This interaction underscores our shared commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement,’ a statement from the Vice President’s office noted on social media platform X.
Vice President Montano arrived in New Delhi earlier in the week for the summit, receiving a warm welcome at the airport from Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey. The Ministry of External Affairs celebrated the occasion on X, calling it ‘a new chapter in digital partnership reflecting our friendly ties.’
This meeting builds on recent high-level exchanges. In November, India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita represented the country at the inauguration of Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz Pereira, reaffirming India’s dedication to stronger ties. Earlier, in October 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Pereira on his electoral victory, emphasizing the solid foundation of friendship and mutual cooperation.
As India and Bolivia navigate global challenges, such engagements signal a promising trajectory for collaboration in emerging fields. Experts see potential in Bolivia’s rich mineral resources complementing India’s renewable energy ambitions, paving the way for long-term strategic alliances.
