According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, China is collaborating with India to address cross-border terrorism. President Xi Jinping emphasized that terrorism is a mutual concern for both countries. Addressing a press conference, Misri mentioned that the Prime Minister prioritized cross-border terrorism, recognizing its shared impact and the importance of mutual support. He affirmed that China has extended its understanding and cooperation on this matter, specifically during the SCO Summit. Regarding border discussions, Misri stated that mechanisms have been established to facilitate the talks. Meetings are expected to occur in the coming weeks to determine the course of delimitation talks. Both countries view themselves as partners rather than rivals in their domestic development efforts. They also recognize that a stable relationship between India and China is beneficial to both nations. The leaders of both countries are of the view that common interests outweigh the differences. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of cooperation for the establishment of an Asian-led century and a functioning multipolar world. Both leaders also emphasized the need to decrease the bilateral trade deficit, promote trade and investment, and increase policy transparency and predictability.
