Haryana Assembly Election 2024: More than two crore voters are voting for 1031 candidates…

New Delhi. More than two crore people will vote today in the elections being held for 90 seats of Haryana Assembly (Haryana Assembly Elections 2024). The elections will decide whether BJP will come to power for the third time or Congress will return to power after a gap of ten years. Voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm, while counting of votes will take place on October 8.

There are 1,031 candidates in the election fray. Of these, 930 are men and 101 are women. According to officials, 20,629 polling stations have been set up in the state for the elections. The campaign for the tightly contested elections ended on Thursday. Both the parties expressed confidence that they will defeat the opponent in the game of numbers in the Assembly. The number of MLAs in the assembly is 90. On Friday, many candidates were busy trying their luck in the last moments and met party and booth workers.

Former chief minister and leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda met party workers in Rohtak, while former BJP home minister Anil Vij was at the party office in Ambala, where he met party officials. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini along with his wife visited Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula and performed Havan Yagya.

Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of failing the economy in Haryana and said the people of the state will soon strike next to break the ‘Chakravyuh’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “crony capitalist policies”. Dalit leader Ashok Tanwar, who returned to the Congress, urged all sections of Haryana, including Dalits and backward classes, to ensure a “big mandate” for the Congress in the elections.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that he is confident that BJP will form the government in Haryana. Chauhan told reporters in Bhopal, “I had gone to Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana during the assembly elections. I have full confidence that BJP is going to form the government there. The atmosphere in Haryana is very good and we are going to form the government there too.”
