The brother of activist Osman Hadi has directly accused the interim government, headed by Mohammad Yunus, of murdering the youth leader to derail the general election process. Sharif Omar bin Hadi insists the administration failed in its fundamental duty to protect his brother and that those in leadership positions at the time of the December 12 killing must face justice. Omar revealed that he believes the murder was intended to create instability and hinder the upcoming polls, suggesting the government aimed to manipulate the situation for political gain. He reportedly told journalists, “You got Osman Hadi killed and now you are trying to win the election by using this as an issue.” Hadi, 32, was shot while campaigning in Dhaka and succumbed to his wounds later. His death led to widespread protests and vandalism. A massive funeral was held under tight security, and the Yunus government declared a day of mourning for the fallen activist.
