White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has warned that thousands of federal employees could face job losses if the government shutdown continues for an extended period. The White House anticipates that this situation could intensify political conflict in Washington, D.C. Leavitt placed the blame on Democrats, accusing them of turning the crisis into a political maneuver.
Leavitt said that the current situation marks the third day of a government shutdown, which she attributes to the Democrats. She asserted that the Democrats are using the demand for free healthcare for undocumented immigrants as leverage, thus affecting American citizens.
Leavitt emphasized that Republicans are united in their support for a non-partisan clean funding bill. She pointed out that this is the same bill that Democrats supported to reopen the federal government in March. However, these same Senate Democrats are now voting against it. She expressed the anticipation that Democrats will alter their position soon.
She brought attention to the fact that millions of Americans are experiencing adverse personal consequences due to the existing government shutdown. She said that the 1.3 million men and women serving in the U.S. military, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force, who protect the country and risk their lives, are not being paid. The military families are seeking food assistance because of the economic stress caused by the Democrats’ shutdown.
President Trump will bring an end to the reign of terror of radical leftists in Portland. If Democrats take the correct action, the shutdown can be resolved, but if it persists, layoffs will be an unfortunate outcome. Leavitt stated that the Democrats’ vote to shut down the government has created this situation for the White House and the President.
The President is deeply concerned regarding all the atrocities in the Middle East in recent years. He inherited this disarray from the Biden administration. During his first term, the Middle East was on a path to peace and prosperity. The Abraham Accords were signed.
She also stated that Israel was on its way to normalization with Arab and Gulf countries, and they hope this will continue. However, the President has clearly stated to Hamas that they must accept an appropriate and detailed proposal, or the consequences will be severe. He provided them with a deadline of Sunday at 6 p.m.
Leavitt said that the world needs to listen to the President. Hamas must accept the plan and move forward with peace. The consequences of not doing so will be devastating.
