    Philippe Lazzarini, the head of UNRWA, has painted a harrowing picture of Gaza, declaring it a ‘graveyard of children and starving people.’ Lazzarini has accused Tel Aviv of implementing a deadly strategy in the region. The government office in Gaza reports a high number of deaths and injuries among Palestinians waiting for aid. The UN official criticized the lack of action and stated the choice for Gazans is between starvation and being shot. His comments followed the killing of civilians waiting for food assistance. The UN human rights office has also documented a large number of fatalities near aid locations. Reports suggest that Israeli and US forces have admitted to shooting unarmed Palestinians seeking aid. The WFP has described the situation in Gaza as dire, hindered by the inability to get food supplies into the area despite having sufficient provisions.
