Dubai, March 7 – Emirates Airlines is set to restart all flights to and from Dubai after a temporary suspension amid heightened regional tensions. The airline, prioritizing passenger safety, had halted operations but now confirms a return to service starting Saturday.
In a recent statement, Emirates announced that passengers with confirmed bookings for Saturday afternoon flights can proceed to the airport. This includes those with connecting flights through Dubai. ‘We are monitoring the situation closely and will adjust our operational schedule accordingly,’ the airline said.
The suspension followed reports of explosions in Dubai and Bahrain’s capital, Manama, on Saturday. Sirens blared across neighborhoods as air defense systems intercepted ballistic missiles and drones. UAE’s defense ministry confirmed these actions, attributing loud booms to successful interceptions by fighter jets and air defenses.
This comes amid Iran’s ongoing retaliatory strikes on Gulf countries hosting U.S. forces. Dubai authorities earlier managed a minor incident involving falling debris from an interception. Emirates had offered rebooking options and refunds via their website during the halt.
As operations resume, travelers are urged to check flight statuses. The airline emphasizes that crew and passenger safety remains paramount, with no compromises. Regional stability hangs in balance, but Emirates moves forward with caution, signaling confidence in security measures.
