DUBAI – A suspected Iranian drone crashed near the US Consulate General in Dubai late Tuesday night, igniting a fire in an adjacent parking area. The incident marks the latest in a string of drone and missile strikes targeting American diplomatic outposts across the Middle East, fueling escalating regional tensions.

This attack came just one day after similar assaults on US facilities in Kuwait and Riyadh, heightening fears of a broader conflict. Thick black smoke billowed from behind the consulate building, as captured in videos shared by local residents. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, swiftly containing the blaze.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the event during a briefing in Washington. ‘Unfortunately, a drone impacted a parking lot next to the chancery building, causing a fire. All personnel are safe,’ Rubio stated, emphasizing no injuries were reported.

Dubai’s Media Office announced on social media platform X that authorities had successfully extinguished the fire. ‘Emergency teams responded immediately. No casualties reported,’ the office said, later sharing images of a mobile fire truck deployed outside the consulate premises.

In the aftermath, the US Consulate in Dubai canceled all visa and consular appointments through March 4. American officials urged citizens to avoid the area and seek shelter amid ongoing threats to diplomatic sites.

The coordinated nature of these attacks underscores the volatile security landscape in the region, where proxy forces linked to Iran have intensified operations against US interests. As investigations continue, both nations reaffirmed commitments to personnel safety while bracing for potential reprisals.
