Dubai Airport Suspends Landings: Travelers Urged to Check Updates

by World Opinion

In a significant move amid escalating regional tensions, Dubai International Airport (DXB) has temporarily halted all incoming flight landings until further notice. Airport authorities made the announcement on March 16, emphasizing the need for passengers to verify their flight status in real-time before heading to the airport.

The decision comes as part of broader disruptions affecting air travel in the Middle East. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and promising regular updates to keep travelers informed. ‘Due to current conditions in the region, landing permissions for flights arriving at DXB are suspended until further notice,’ read the latest advisory from Dubai Airports.

Passengers are strongly advised to check their flight details via official channels to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. Dubai Airports is also sending direct notifications to affected travelers, appreciating their patience during this challenging period.

Meanwhile, Air India and Air India Express have outlined special flight operations for March 17, 2026, operating 44 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from West Asia. Key routes including Muscat and Jeddah will continue as planned, with additional services from major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, and Tiruchirapalli.

In addition to scheduled flights, the airlines will run 24 extra non-scheduled flights to UAE and Saudi Arabia, subject to slot availability and regulatory approvals. All flights to North America, Europe, Australia, and other regions remain on schedule.

Travelers whose flights are disrupted can rebook without extra charges or opt for full refunds through the airline websites. Air India urges passengers to update their contact details for SMS notifications and contact the 24/7 helpline at +91 11 69329333 or +91 11 69329999. Air India Express offers rebooking via their AI-powered assistant TIA at +91 63600 12345.

As airlines scramble to accommodate stranded passengers, the focus remains on safety and clear communication. Dubai’s suspension underscores the volatile situation, with global carriers adapting swiftly to minimize impact on international travel networks.
