In light of the recent US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi has issued a strong plea for diplomatic resolution. Addressing the UN Security Council, Grossi highlighted the critical need for all parties to engage in negotiations, particularly after the attacks carried out in ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’. He also underscored the importance of allowing IAEA inspectors to assess the situation and verify the facts on the ground. Grossi warned of potentially dire consequences, including the collapse of the global non-proliferation regime, if diplomatic efforts are unsuccessful.
