Greece is facing a significant challenge with over 750 schools being shuttered. This action is not a result of any immediate crisis like a natural disaster, but rather a consequence of a declining birth rate. The population decrease is having a tangible impact on the educational landscape.

The government’s decision to temporarily close these schools was made before the new academic session began. The affected schools constitute around five percent of the total schools within Greece.
