The Pentagon has dismissed US Air Force Lt Gen. Jeffrey Kruse from his role as Chief of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). The dismissal occurred shortly after the DIA produced a preliminary report that contradicted President Donald Trump’s claims that US strikes in June had destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is not an isolated incident, as other senior officials have also been removed. Senator Mark Warner of the Senate Intelligence Committee has criticized the move, suggesting that the Trump administration is prioritizing loyalty over objective intelligence analysis.
