The violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh is intensifying, with the recent events in Rangpur highlighting the dire situation. The attacks began with unsubstantiated allegations of blasphemy against an 18-year-old Hindu student named Ronjon Roy. A fake account, used to impersonate Roy, allegedly posted offensive content about the Muslim religion. This led to a violent mob attack on Hindu homes, looting, and vandalism. Following these attacks, aid workers attempting to provide assistance to the displaced Hindus have also been threatened by authorities. Despite these threats, relief efforts continue, with volunteers distributing essential supplies to those in need. The events have raised serious concerns about the role of government officials in suppressing relief efforts and intimidating minority leaders. The international community is urged to hold Bangladeshi officials accountable for their actions.
