Wuhan, China – The 2026 China Conference and Exhibition Economy International Cooperation Forum kicked off successfully from Wednesday to Friday in Wuhan, the capital of central China’s Hubei Province. In a highlight of the event, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) unveiled the highly anticipated ‘China Exhibition Economy Development Report 2025′.
The report paints a robust picture of China’s domestic exhibition sector, which maintained steady momentum throughout the year. Breaking records once again, the number of exhibitions and their total exhibition space reached unprecedented heights. Specifically, in 2025, China hosted a staggering 4,095 economic and trade exhibitions domestically, covering a combined area of 159 million square meters. This marks a significant 6.53% increase in the number of events and a 2.5% rise in exhibition space compared to 2024.
Turning to international fronts, Chinese exhibitions held overseas showcased stability with structural optimizations, continuing an upward trajectory in numbers. The machinery and transportation-logistics sectors led the charge, with Chinese companies dominating overseas exhibition activities in these fields.
Consumer goods industries also saw notable surges in exhibition projects, underscoring Chinese enterprises’ aggressive push into global markets. This trend highlights a strategic shift towards broader international presence and diversified market penetration.
