Beijing has extended its warm congratulations to Nepal following the smooth conclusion of the House of Representatives elections. In a statement on March 6, a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed delight over the successful and orderly conduct of the polls.

The spokesperson emphasized China’s desire to deepen long-term strategic cooperation and friendly partnership with Nepal, advancing together towards development and prosperity. During the ministry’s regular press briefing on the same day, the official welcomed the smooth progress of Nepal’s national political agenda.

Highlighting the historically close ties between the two nations, the spokesperson noted that China places great importance on its relations with Nepal. Both countries have consistently supported each other in safeguarding independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

China remains committed to working hand-in-hand with Nepal to promote shared development and mutual prosperity. This reaffirmation of bilateral ties comes at a pivotal moment for Nepal’s political landscape, signaling Beijing’s keen interest in regional stability and cooperation.

As Nepal moves forward with its new government formation, the message from China underscores the enduring friendship that has defined their neighborhood relations for decades. Analysts see this as a strategic move to bolster influence in South Asia amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
