The Chhattisgarh Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo 2025 has become an instant success, welcoming over 22,000 visitors on its opening day. The pavilion offers a vivid presentation of Chhattisgarh’s heritage, industries, and tourism opportunities.

Chhattisgarh is participating in the World Expo as part of the India Pavilion, from August 24 to 30, 2025, following an invitation from the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). The grand opening of the pavilion took place on the first day.

The pavilion is designed to provide visitors with an immersive experience, showcasing Chhattisgarh’s cultural richness, industrial capabilities, and tourism potential. It aims to familiarize a global audience with Chhattisgarh’s progress and future prospects.

The pavilion highlights the beauty and heritage of Chhattisgarh, including Nava Raipur, a pioneering greenfield smart city designed for investment and industrial growth. It also features Chitrakot Falls, often referred to as the ‘Niagara of India,’ drawing significant attention.

Sirpur, a historical and religious site, is prominently displayed within the pavilion. This ancient Buddhist site dates back to the 8th century AD, representing Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy. Inspired by Buddhist teachings, Chhattisgarh promotes values of peace, inclusion, and sustainable development.

The pavilion underscores Chhattisgarh’s strategic geographic location and its role as a multi-modal transport hub. Its central location and transportation networks position it as a major logistics hub in the country. Furthermore, the rapid development of industries such as manufacturing, textiles, IT/ITES, electronics, and village industries is showcased, highlighting Chhattisgarh as a prime investment destination.

The pavilion also features the state’s folk arts and crafts. Bastar’s Dhokra art, a 4,000-year-old GI-tagged metal craft, captivates with its unique beauty. Kosa silk, known as Chhattisgarh’s cultural symbol, is another highlight, celebrated for its natural shine and durability. It is crafted from the Antheraea mylitta silkworm found in the state’s forests. Artistic Kosa installations express the essence of Chhattisgarh – a balance of spirituality, nature, and progress.

The Chhattisgarh Pavilion’s successful launch and high visitor numbers set a positive tone for the upcoming days. The pavilion not only celebrates cultural diversity but also establishes Chhattisgarh as an emerging hub for industrial advancement and global investment.
