Nepal’s former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife were attacked during ongoing anti-corruption protests, marked by increasing violence. The incident, captured in social media videos, shows protesters entering Deuba’s home in Budanilkantha, Kathmandu. Deuba sustained facial injuries, and his wife, Arzu Rana Deuba, was also reportedly assaulted. The residence was damaged before authorities intervened. The protests, led by ‘Gen Z’ participants, involved extensive arson and property destruction throughout the country. The private residence of outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, Bhaktapur, was set on fire, along with the private residence of President Ram Chandra Paudel in Kathmandu. Both the Prime Minister and President resigned amidst the escalating violence. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel was seen being chased through the streets of Kathmandu. The unrest has resulted in a death toll of 19, with over 300 people injured.
