New Delhi is buzzing as global leaders converge for the India AI-Impact Summit 2026, positioning the city as a hub for artificial intelligence innovation. The latest high-profile arrival is Bolivia’s Vice President, Captain Edmundo Novillo Lara, who touched down in the capital on Tuesday. Welcoming him at the airport was Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, signaling a warm embrace for this key international guest.

Joining the roster of distinguished attendees is Dr. Andrew Charlton, Australia’s Assistant Minister for Science, Technology, and Digital Economy. Charlton is set to champion collaborative AI advancements that benefit both nations. His agenda includes underscoring the need for rapid AI adoption while amplifying workforce voices, investing in sustainable AI infrastructure, and fostering secure, inclusive innovations. Australia aims to position itself as a preferred partner in these endeavors.

This landmark summit, billed as the world’s largest AI forum, gathers policymakers, tech CEOs, academic experts, and civil society leaders to shape global AI policies. Inspired by commitments to AI safety institutes, it strengthens cooperative frameworks among like-minded partners. Charlton’s visit extends beyond the summit; he plans bilateral meetings with counterparts from the US, UK, Canada, and India to advance partnerships, alongside discussions with major tech firms on bolstering Australia’s AI ecosystem per its National AI Plan.

Dr. Charlton expressed enthusiasm, stating, ‘This summit is a vital opportunity to reinforce Australia’s role as a regional leader in sustainable AI infrastructure and secure, inclusive innovation.’ He highlighted promoting inclusive AI deployment aligned with Australian values, ensuring benefits reach all under a social license. Marking the 20th anniversary of the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund, Charlton looks forward to deepening long-standing ties in business and science.

The Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, noted the arrival as ‘a new beginning in digital partnership within India-Bolivia friendly relations.’ As more leaders arrive, the summit promises groundbreaking dialogues on AI’s future, with implications for global technology governance and economic growth.
