Baloch Leader Rejects Pakistan’s Claim Over Balochistan Resources, Warns of Global Implications

A prominent Baloch leader, Mir Yar Baloch, has spoken out against the recent trade agreement between the United States and Pakistan concerning the development of oil reserves, asserting that Balochistan’s resources are not subject to Pakistan’s control. In a letter addressed to former US President Donald Trump and shared on social media, Baloch rejected Pakistan’s claims, stating that the oil, gas, and mineral resources of the region are the property of the Baloch people and Balochistan. He accused Pakistan of making false claims to acquire control over the region’s mineral wealth for economic advantages. Baloch clarified that resources such as rare earth elements, copper, lithium, uranium, and oil belong to the Baloch people, and the Pakistani government has no right to exploit them. He cautioned that this deal could potentially empower the ISI, which he described as a rogue agency, known for supporting terrorist organizations. He warned that allowing Pakistan’s military and ISI to exploit Balochistan’s resources would finance global terror. Furthermore, he stated that any profits derived from these deals would fund anti-India and anti-Israel militant activities. Baloch reiterated the Republic of Balochistan’s declaration of independence in May 2025, urging the global community to recognize its sovereignty. He concluded with a firm statement: Balochistan is not for sale, and the Baloch people will not permit exploitation of their land or resources without their consent. This has ignited renewed conversations about resource ownership, foreign intervention, and Pakistan’s long-standing occupation of Balochistan. This statement was made in response to Trump’s announcement of a deal to collaborate with Pakistan on developing its substantial oil reserves.
