India is on high alert following intelligence indicating a significant operational merger between Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), two of Pakistan’s most notorious terror groups. Reports confirm a recent high-level meeting in Bahawalpur, Punjab, where the two organizations allegedly aligned their strategies for launching coordinated attacks against India.

This latest development brings Bahawalpur back into focus as a central command for terrorist operations, echoing its role during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ an earlier Indian response to terrorist provocations. Images have surfaced that appear to depict JeM leadership engaging with LeT’s deputy chief, Saifullah Kasuri, during this crucial meeting in the city.

These visuals serve as concrete evidence of the LeT and JeM actively working in tandem. Intelligence sources further suggest that this collaboration might be taking place with the backing of Pakistan’s military and its intelligence agency, the ISI, raising serious geopolitical concerns.

In parallel, there are credible reports of terror launch pads being rebuilt in Rawalakot, a sensitive area in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. These infrastructure sites were previously targeted and destroyed by Indian forces earlier this year. Adding to the dire situation, intelligence last month indicated the JeM was forming a new suicide squad, possibly motivated by recent incidents like the Red Fort car bomb explosion, with intentions to strike India. The group is reportedly actively seeking funds to support these expansionist terror plans.

The financial aspect of these terror plots is also a major concern. Terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan are allegedly raising funds through various means, including collecting donations under the guise of supporting the cause of Kashmir, often with the tacit approval of local authorities. Digital financial tools, such as the Pakistani app SadaPay, are reportedly being utilized to move these illicit funds, similar to its alleged involvement in funding the Red Fort attack.

The joint operational posture of the LeT and JeM, combined with the rehabilitation of terror infrastructure in Bahawalpur and Rawalakot, points to a significantly intensified threat landscape. India’s security apparatus is working diligently, maintaining maximum vigilance to counter any potential attacks and protect its citizens.
