Akasa Airline Update News: India’s newest airline Akasa will start international flights from next month. The low-cost airline will launch four times weekly flights between Mumbai and Doha from March 28, 2024. The airline has bilateral services to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. Since bilateral flights to Dubai have been fully utilised, Akasa is not yet allowed to fly there.
The airline says that Akasa Air has become the first Indian airline to fly abroad in a record period of 19 months since its inception. Akasa is the first airline to fly abroad under the government’s 0/20 rule. This means that an Indian carrier must have a fleet of at least 20 aircraft to fly abroad.
Vinay Dubey, Founder and CEO, Akasa, said, “We are delighted to begin international operations with the launch of Doha, our first destination for our growing network. With the commencement of four flights a week directly connecting to Mumbai, a variety of passengers are expected to be served.

However, Akasa Air claimed that there is no shortage of pilots. Various social media users reported the cancellation of Akasa Air flights. An airline spokesperson said in a statement that the cancellation of flights is an ‘unusual’ situation.
