On Wednesday, the Israeli navy intervened, halting a flotilla of boats carrying humanitarian assistance destined for the Gaza Strip. Among those detained was Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, as confirmed by the Israeli Foreign Ministry. The flotilla’s mission was the latest in a series of attempts to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza, which has been significantly impacted by nearly two years of conflict. The Israeli Foreign Ministry posted on X, stating that several vessels from the Hamas-Sumud flotilla had been stopped, and their occupants were being taken to an Israeli port. The post also clarified that Greta Thunberg and the others were in a safe condition.
