Union Minister Ramdas Athawale made it clear that the honor of the judiciary is mandatory for everyone. It is necessary to follow the orders given by the judiciary. However, he also said that the judiciary should understand that Parliament is supreme. Making law is the task of Parliament, while the responsibility of the judiciary is to give a decision according to the law.

The Union Minister clarified that the Supreme Court’s comments on the laws made by the Parliament are not appropriate in every case. However, we respect the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court should also respect Parliament.

The statement of Union Minister Athawale came when BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s statement has given rise to political controversy. Nishikant Dubey had said that “Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna is responsible for the civil wars happening in this country.”

He also said in a social media post, “If the laws are made only by the Supreme Court, then the Parliament House should be closed.”

These statements of BJP MP have created controversy. However, BJP national president JP Nadda described Nishikant Dubey’s statement as a personal view and clarified that it has no relation with the party. He also said that we respect the judiciary.

    Opposition demands action

There is intense resentment in the opposition about Nishikant Dubey’s statement. Jharkhand Minister Irfan Ansari has demanded that Nishikant Dubey be dismissed from the Lok Sabha immediately. Meanwhile, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh has alleged that Dubey is dividing between the Hindu-Muslims to become a minister. He has also demanded action against the BJP MP. It is noteworthy that Nishikant Dubey is an MP from Godda seat in Jharkhand and this is his position to become an MP for the fourth time.
