A significant earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred in eastern Afghanistan, near the Pakistan border, on Sunday. The USGS indicated the quake’s epicenter was near Jalalabad, Nangarhar province, at a depth of 8 kilometers. The impact was felt in various parts of India, including Delhi-NCR, and in Pakistan. Local medical sources reported that 15 individuals sustained injuries and received treatment at local hospitals. A second earthquake, measuring 4.5 in magnitude, followed shortly after in the same province. Afghanistan has experienced multiple earthquakes recently, including a 6.3 magnitude quake in October 2023 that caused widespread damage.
