19th Indian Diaspora Day to be Celebrated in Kolkata, Modi to Inaugurate

The 19th edition of the Indian Diaspora Day conference will be held in Kolkata from January 7 to 9, 2027. The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the West Bengal government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the summit. A dedicated segment for young diaspora members is planned, bringing together students, entrepreneurs, professionals, educators and innovators from around the world. The gathering commemorates Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India on January 9, 1915, and aims to strengthen ties between overseas Indians and their homeland while recognizing their contributions to global development.
