Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, faced renewed calls for an apology from Bangladesh regarding the 1971 war during a recent visit. The discussions, which took place between Dar and the Foreign Advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government, covered a range of unresolved issues. These issues included the matter of an apology, property claims, and the situation of stranded Pakistani citizens.

Both sides acknowledged their differing perspectives on these historical matters but agreed on the importance of addressing them through dialogue to foster better bilateral relations. Several agreements and MOUs were signed to facilitate this process, reflecting a commitment to resolving outstanding issues.
