YouTube has rolled out a new Premium Lite subscription in India, offering an ad-free viewing experience for a low monthly fee of ₹89. This plan provides users with an ad-free experience for the majority of videos, but it excludes certain features.

This budget-friendly plan lets users watch videos without ads across various devices like smartphones, laptops, and TVs. However, there are limitations. According to the company, ads will continue to be displayed on music content, Shorts, and potentially during search and browsing activities within the platform.

Comparing Premium Lite to the standard YouTube Premium, which costs ₹149 monthly, reveals key differences. Premium Lite focuses solely on removing video advertisements. YouTube Premium subscribers benefit from extra features, including access to YouTube Music, background playback, and offline video downloads.

This plan has been introduced in India to cater to viewers who wish to eliminate ads without the need for music streaming or other premium features. It’s tailored to meet the preferences and budget considerations of Indian users.
