World Space Week 2026 Kicks Off with Focus on Climate Solutions

The United Nations marked the start of World Space Week 2026 on Sunday, highlighting how space‑based observations are vital in tracking climate change and supporting disaster response. The UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) emphasised that satellite data helps countries monitor extreme weather, sea‑level rise and other environmental pressures, providing essential information for mitigation and adaptation strategies. With the theme "Rocket Revolution," the week aims to inspire students, raise public support for space programmes and foster international collaboration in space education and outreach.
