Following Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s warnings about potential privacy issues in WhatsApp group chats due to AI, the platform has responded. WhatsApp stated that Meta AI can only access what a user chooses to share. It does not have access to all chats or contacts. The platform clarified that Meta AI is not active until a user directly engages with it or mentions it within a chat. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted by default, ensuring that only the sender and recipients can read them.
