Vodafone Idea has filed a new petition in the Supreme Court regarding the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) matter, requesting a recalculation of the AGR figures. The company is specifically seeking a review of the AGR calculations done before the year 2017, alleging that some amounts have been included twice. Initially, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had demanded ₹5,960 crore. The government’s current demand now includes an additional ₹2,774 crore. The DoT issued a notice to Vodafone Idea on August 13, giving a 15-day timeframe for a response. AGR is a crucial revenue component for telecom companies, based on which they pay license fees and spectrum usage charges to the government.
