    New Delhi erupted with excitement as Google CEO Sundar Pichai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The high-profile meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on accelerating artificial intelligence development in India and exploring collaborative opportunities between Google and the country’s talented pool of students and professionals.

    PM Modi shared his delight on social media platform X, describing the interaction as ‘a highly pleasurable experience.’ He highlighted discussions on India’s ongoing efforts in the AI sector and how Google could partner with Indian talent to drive innovation forward.

    Pichai, who arrived in Delhi to participate in the summit, expressed his enthusiasm on X, stating, ‘Thrilled to be back in India for the AI Impact Summit.’ His keynote address is scheduled for February 20, marking a key highlight of the event.

    The summit itself is a landmark gathering, set to be inaugurated by PM Modi on February 19. It underscores India’s vision for global collaboration on inclusive and responsible AI. Over 20 heads of state, 60 ministers, and more than 100 government representatives are attending, alongside 500 global AI leaders including CEOs, founders, academics, researchers, CTOs, and philanthropists.

    Structured around seven thematic pillars and three core pillars—People, Planet, and Progress—the summit aims to shape a forward-looking framework for AI. Topics span economic growth and social good through AI, democratizing AI resources, inclusive empowerment, safe and trustworthy AI, human capital, science, and resilience, innovation, and efficiency.

    This event positions India as a central player in defining the global AI agenda, fostering discussions that could redefine technology’s role in sustainable development and equitable progress worldwide.
