    A significant update from Snapchat will impact users who actively use the Memories feature. The platform will start charging users for storing more than 5GB of content within Memories. Snapchat, since its launch in 2016, offered free storage for photos and videos, which are originally intended to be viewed for just 24 hours. Now, users will have to subscribe to continue accessing their saved content once their 5GB limit is reached.

    Snapchat stated that the feature has grown considerably. The company is introducing new Memories Storage Plans to ensure users can continue storing their memories. The plans offer different storage capacities, with users able to opt for 100GB or 250GB storage via the Snapchat+ monthly plan. Additionally, a Platinum plan is available, offering a large 5TB of storage.

    Here are the storage plan options and their corresponding prices:

    * 100GB storage plan: $1.99 per month (around Rs 165)
    * Snapchat+ with 250GB storage: $3.99 per month (around Rs 330)

    Snapchat is offering an alternative for users who do not wish to subscribe. Users exceeding the free storage limit will receive 12 months of temporary storage. During this period, users can download their content to their devices or choose a paid subscription. To save Memories content directly to a device:

    1. Open the Snapchat app on your device.
    2. Access ‘Memories’ by tapping the photo icon.
    3. Press and hold the Snap or Snaps you wish to download.
    4. Tap ‘Export’.
    5. Choose the desired location to save your Snap.
