New Delhi, February 28 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated National Science Day by emphasizing the transformative power of blending knowledge with science. In a compelling video message shared on X, he declared that when ancient wisdom merges with modern science, pathways to overcome global crises naturally emerge.

Drawing from India’s rich scriptural heritage, PM Modi highlighted how this synergy forms the bedrock for solutions, development, and innovation. ‘Science is the foundation of resolution and progress,’ he stated, underscoring its role in addressing contemporary challenges.

The occasion marks the anniversary of Sir C.V. Raman’s groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928, a phenomenon that revolutionized spectroscopy and earned him the Nobel Prize. This discovery not only altered the trajectory of scientific research but also put India on the global map of innovation.

PM Modi reiterated the nation’s commitment to bolstering research ecosystems, empowering youth, and harnessing science and technology for national growth and global welfare. National Science Day, he noted, is a vibrant celebration of scientific curiosity that propels India forward.

Echoing this sentiment, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended greetings, praising the Raman Effect for elevating India’s scientific prestige. He lauded India’s strides in space exploration, green energy, biotechnology, and digital innovation, from Chandrayaan missions to affordable healthcare solutions.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also commended scientists and innovators whose dedication expands knowledge frontiers in AI, space, defense, IT, healthcare, agriculture, and renewable energy. Their achievements inspire youth, strengthen the economy, enhance security, and improve lives.

As India positions itself as a global science leader, National Science Day serves as a clarion call to democratize scientific temper, research, and innovation across society. Tributes poured in for scientists, researchers, and students whose tireless efforts lay the foundation for a brighter future.
