In a significant diplomatic and business gathering, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani welcomed Finland’s President Alexander Stubb to his Mumbai residence alongside his son Anant Ambani. The meeting, announced on Saturday, underscored deepening ties between India and Finland rooted in friendship and shared values.
Reliance shared on social media platform X that the discussions highlighted meaningful conversations aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. President Stubb, during his India visit, emphasized the growing role of India and the Global South in fostering a collaborative, fair, and representative global order.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed these sentiments, pointing to expanded cooperation in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, 5G and 6G telecommunications, advanced data analytics, and quantum computing. Both nations agreed to bolster research collaborations and promote innovation.
Joint research projects are set to launch between India’s Department of Science and Technology and Finland’s Business Finland, focusing on renewable energy, smart cities, hydrogen technology, electric vehicles, and waste management.
Adding to the momentum, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Finland’s leading food company Fazer. This long-term strategic partnership will see the production, marketing, and distribution of premium chocolates across India, leveraging Fazer’s recipes and quality standards.
RCPL’s vast network, reaching nearly 3 million retail outlets in India, combined with Fazer’s renowned brand portfolio, positions this alliance to capture a strong foothold in India’s rapidly expanding chocolate and confectionery market. With rising consumer incomes and organized retail growth, the venture promises substantial market penetration and innovation in premium offerings.
