New Delhi witnessed a strong endorsement from Union Ministers for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach to integrating Artificial Intelligence into India’s education system. Speaking to the media on Monday, they highlighted how these reforms align seamlessly with India’s cultural ethos and national priorities.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that India’s education landscape is steadily embracing AI across multiple domains. He pointed to a groundbreaking teacher training app developed in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation, launched in November 2024. ‘Our education system is advancing on several fronts with AI integration,’ Pradhan stated, adding that a new version of the app, powered by CK-12 Foundation, has now been rolled out to bolster digital learning tools for educators.
These initiatives, Pradhan noted, embody PM Modi’s blueprint for modernizing education while anchoring it in Indian values. Referencing a recent event at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he recalled the Prime Minister’s call to liberate India from colonial mindsets by 2035. The National Education Policy (NEP), he affirmed, is being implemented to reflect India’s unique identity and heritage.
In a separate interaction, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal underscored PM Modi’s consistent emphasis on national security in every public address, from Parliament sessions to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episodes. ‘This reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation,’ Meghwal said.
Meghwal also drew attention to a seminar discussing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Integral Humanism philosophy and its relevance in the AI era. The discourse focused on how ancient Indian philosophical thoughts can guide the ethical deployment of modern technologies like AI, ensuring balanced and moral progress.
As India races towards technological leadership, these ministerial accolades signal a unified push to fuse tradition with innovation, positioning the country as a global education powerhouse.
