Additionally, Nadella discussed his fears about the shifting company culture. He referenced the historical experiences of companies that, despite initial success, could not sustain their relevance. The CEO pointed out the case of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) that did not manage to compete with IBM and others, and eventually disappeared from the market.
