A savvy individual saved ₹36,500 by purchasing an Apple MacBook Pro in Vietnam, illustrating a smart approach to buying expensive electronics. The opportunity arose due to lower prices compared to the Indian market, which is affected by import duties, GST, and premium pricing. The person specifically traveled to Hanoi to capitalize on this advantage, booking an economical flight and visiting over fifteen stores to locate the best deal. Advice was also given to thoroughly inquire about VAT refund documentation to boost savings. While the 24GB RAM MacBook Pro costs ₹1,85,000 in India, the same model was available for ₹1,48,500 in Vietnam after the VAT refund, saving ₹36,500. The total expense for the trip, including the MacBook and the eleven-day travel, was ₹1,97,000. Consequently, the cost of the vacation was approximately ₹48,000. Despite a marginally higher overall cost than buying the laptop in India, the individual effectively enjoyed an 11-day trip for an additional ₹12,000.
