This groundbreaking event marks the first-ever AI summit in the Global South, drawing representatives from across the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit, underscoring India’s leadership in artificial intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence stands as a cornerstone in India’s journey toward development, strengthening governance, and enhancing public service delivery. It supports inclusive growth on a massive scale, perfectly aligning with the vision of a developed India by 2047. India’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity positions it uniquely to pioneer multilingual and multi-model AI systems tailored to diverse needs.
Global leaders, policymakers, industry pioneers, and experts will converge to explore AI’s transformative potential in governance, innovation, and sustainable development. The summit builds on outcomes from major international AI forums, channeling global discussions into tangible results through the IndiaAI Mission and Digital India initiatives.
It emphasizes multilateral collaboration and people-centric AI frameworks. Recognizing AI’s strategic importance, the Indian government has prioritized building a robust, inclusive AI ecosystem via the IndiaAI Mission, AI compute infrastructure, indigenous models, and large-scale capacity building for responsible AI adoption.
The India AI Impact Summit will foster global cooperation, promote ethical AI, and accelerate its integration into priority sectors. This positions India as a global hub for AI innovation, advancing the vision of a digitally empowered nation. Ahead of the 2026 edition, eight regional AI conferences have been held in partnership with state governments in Meghalaya, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Telangana between October 2025 and January 2026, aligning national priorities with regional needs.
