New Delhi is buzzing with anticipation as the India AI Expo Summit 2026 undergoes a key schedule change. The event, showcasing cutting-edge artificial intelligence innovations, will remain closed to the general public on February 19. Instead, it gets an extra day, staying open until February 21. Electronics and IT Secretary S Krishnan announced this update on Wednesday, citing overwhelming public interest and logistical needs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver the inaugural address on February 19, drawing high-profile attendees including around 20 world leaders. French President Emmanuel Macron is among them, underscoring the summit’s global stature. To manage security protocols and VIP movements, authorities have decided to restrict public access that day, avoiding any disruptions.
Krishnan highlighted the tremendous response from visitors, justifying the extension. ‘The expo will now open on Saturday, February 21, allowing more people to explore the exhibits,’ he stated. This move ensures broader participation without compromising safety.
Spanning over 70,000 square meters across 10 arenas, the summit unites global tech giants, startups, academics, researchers, central ministries, state governments, and international partners. Thirteen countries are setting up pavilions, including Australia, Japan, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan, and African nations. This platform fosters international collaboration in the AI ecosystem.
Industry leaders and startups are eager to unveil breakthroughs, making this a pivotal gathering for India’s AI ambitions. The extension reflects the event’s massive appeal, promising deeper insights into AI’s transformative potential for economy, society, and governance. Visitors are advised to plan accordingly for the revised dates.
